Examine what motivates you when working out and try a new activity that meets those needs.

Step 2: Try a new activity. Take a video or photo of this experience and share it on your portfolio.
Step 3: Post a brief reflection to your portfolio
In your reflection, answer these 3 questions:
- Why did you initially pick that activity?
- Will you do it again? Why or why not?
- What did you learn about yourself and how you work out best?

My Reflection
For Activity 1, I chose to try a new activity. I always enjoyed swimming lessons when I was younger and I've heard swimming is a really great total body workout, so I decided to go to my local community pool and try out a lane swim. I was really happy to hear they have a student rate!!
I was really surprised at how HARD it was! I do a lot of running so I thought it would be no problem, but I guess it's a whole different set of muscles. A woman there told me that it gets a lot easier with practice over time.
I'd like to try it again, people seem to know each other and get along so it seemed like a fun place. I was the youngest one, most people were over 50, but they were really nice. I definitely need better goggles!
Taking some of the quizzes in the online course, I learned that I'm a "White Canvas" workout personality meaning I like to work out on my own, schedule workouts and set my own goals. I think this fits in nicely! I knew I never enjoyed gym class, but I guess not all types of working out are for everyone.
